At the Taps

BJ's Brewhouse is one of the best lunch spots in Addison which is known for its good eats. After going there a few years and sitting at the bar in a spot closest to the taps (good service is a given at BJ's but why take chances?) you meet a few people and start to share stories, information, observations, and yes even a few feelings.

Today is the 23rd - 25 years ago today...

Unknown to the Marines at the time, the National Security Agency had made a diplomatic communications intercept on 26 September in which the Iranian Intelligence Service provided explicit instructions to the Iranian ambassador in Damascus (a known terrorist) to attack the Marines at Beirut International Airport. The suicide attackers struck us 28 days later, with word of the intercept stuck in the intelligence pipeline until days after the attack.

We didn't learn the lesson that intel that does not get to the people needing it is no intel at all. The same thing happend on 9-11.

Ever hear of the MV Iran Deyant?
